Interpretation needed
What does it mean when a woman says you don't have to get her anything for her birthday?

It means, "Please don't get me anything for my birthday, except a card if you happen to already be in Walmart on the card aisle."
If your girlfriend is telling you not to get her anything for her bday she probably knows it's going to be a hastle for you rather than something you look forward to doing.
Buying special gifts for your significant other shouldn't be a chore.
I don't ever expect the perfect gift on my bday but it's always a good feeling to get a little something that shows she/he cares.
I am not the kind of wife that says "don't buy me anything" and then expect a gift. However, Tim has a hard time believing that!!! If I say "don't buy me anything" then don't!!!
